We are seeking an experienced, talented individual to join our company as an Assistant Controller. As part of our finance team, you support business operations through the prompt invoicing and analysis for all active jobs in the business. This includes the management and oversight of 3 Project Accountants and Billing Coordinators as well as Accounts Receivable. In addition, the Assistant Controller is responsible for the forecasting of individual jobs as well as modeling future financial performance for the company based on current trends and sales information. This includes the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for all departments and divisions. Your analysis and recommendations direct and drive operational decisions and have a considerable impact on the health of the organization. It is crucial that our Assistant Controller promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure milestone and T&M billing occurs in a timely fashion
- Attend weekly production meetings
- Attend regular meetings with Project Managers and stay informed on the status of current projects
- Review project cost folders prior to final approval
- Review job performance and identify and communicate causal factors affecting variances
- Assist Project Managers and Estimators to identify key assumptions and costs affecting project budgets and bring suggestions on how to meet those assumptions.
- Monitor collections activity and ensure past due balances are communicated and escalated. Assist with collections when necessary.
- Plan and complete annual budget with assistance from the Controller.
- Understanding key business drivers and reporting of them on a monthly basis.
- Developing financial projections and building financial models, both for individual jobs and company-wide.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow and recommend hedging requirements for foreign currency.
- Complete quarterly forecasting
- Develop and manage key processes and policies, including associated work instructions, and update as required.
- Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Either a CPA designation or passed CFE and working towards experience requirement
- 2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
- Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
- Working knowledge of financial strategies.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Prior people management experience is an asset
- Full cycle accounting experience is an asset
- Previous experience working with NAV Dynamics is an asset
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
