Key focus:
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of Injection Molds to support the production work schedule
We require a tool maintenance technician who will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance of molds on cold runner system
  • Carrying out mold repair by dismantling, cleaning individual parts, assembling them together, changing inserts, guide pins, fasteners, core pins etc.
  • Performing preventive maintenance of shut off valve molds with precision assembly techniques
  • Carrying out insert replacement as per change over instructions with proper screws and pins and inspect molds for leakages  
  • Working with heaters (wiring) and water circulation (plumbing), sealing replacement of both nitrile and Teflon and curing of silicone for effective mold maintenance.             
  • Working with pneumatics for handling head troubleshooting, repair of connectors and valves etc.                       
  • Conducting inspection for wear and tear items and replace when needed             
  • Continuous improvement on mold maintenance techniques for precision work etc.         
  • Serving as a technical help for process technician team members            
  • Establishing and follow action plans for out of range parts 
  • Compiling data and analyze past and current information in order to troubleshoot, optimize and continuously improve all injection molding processes                    
  • Following Lock Out/ Tag Out procedures                 
  • Operational knowledge of all manual tool room equipment
  • Shipping and receiving of tooling and spare part components. Perform incoming and outgoing inspections, matching items with corresponding shipping documentation and entering data into ERP system.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift 
  • Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained                                    
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department team leader and manager.

Do you have?
  • College Diploma plus apprenticeship or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience in mold repair and maintenance
  • Experience with silicone injection molding units an asset               
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
    
Successful candidate will also have:
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications                      
  • Ability to operate Engel injection Molding Machines           
  • Knowledgeable about insert grinding, mold pins blending, venting and matching               
  • Operating knowledge of Liquid Injection Molding Process is an asset                    
  • Excellent vision – successful Colour Vision test      
  • Attention to detail                  
  • Good oral and written communication skills            
  • Good people skills                 
  • Willingness to learn new processes             
  • Must be able to work all shifts including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends
