In partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., RS is seeking a highly collaborative, strategic, results-oriented Director of Operations who will be accountable for the overall operations, safety, and leadership of its Tilbury, Ontario manufacturing facility. The role includes direct accountability over production, quality, human resources, scheduling and logistics, inventory management, maintenance and capital equipment installation and commissioning.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Operations will lead a high performing team and operation where safety is managed as a visible priority and “way of life” throughout the organization. This visionary and collaborative leader will establish and maintain improved EHS practices, disaster prevention, and recovery plans while managing costs, maximizing profit, and exceeding internal and external customer needs and requirements. Leading the timely and cost-effective delivery of quality products for the operation, this dynamic individual will utilize highly developed organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate with teams across the company (marketing, sales, procurement, accounting, quality, engineering and operations teams). The Director of Operations will also manage improvement and capital projects, such as the purchase and installation of new equipment.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline, 7+ years of demonstrated manufacturing operations management experience and an extensive skillset in technical, quality, administrative, and financial oversight. The ideal candidate will have proven plant management experience, including leading hourly work teams in a process intensive manufacturing environment.

Through professional, honest, and persuasive communication, the successful candidate will possess a proactive and results oriented attitude, coupled with a successful track record leading people and projects with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers. Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, and 5S principles will be necessary for success in this role. Additionally, it will be important for the successful candidate to possess previous experience with ERP/MRP implementations and shop-floor documentation, work-orders, inventory control, scheduling, and QC data management. If relocation is necessary, the company will provide a relocation allowance to the successful candidate.
