Job Description
The successful candidate will be able to meet sales and profitability goals while maintaining a great customer experience and manage staff effectively.
The store manager is fully accountable for the overall direction, planning and execution of all store requirements.
The store manager will provide leadership and direction to the stores team in the areas of customer engagement, sales, product knowledge, health and safety, loss prevention and ensures it operates as efficiently and profitably as possible.
Job description
Create an in-store experience that inspires repeat customers
Determine staffing requirements based on store needs
Improve staffing utilization and manage payroll costs
Reduce and maintain inventory on all products inbound and outbound
Working with your assistant manager and sales team to achieve sales plans and targets
Inventory purchasing per inventory strategy
Create opportunities to increase exposure in the community by organizing and participating in community events
Resolve customer issues in a prompt and friendly, professional manner
Periodic training to stay on top of industry demand
Manage or delegate social media activities for the business
Manage employee schedules and daily staffing levels
Recruit, train, and retain exceptional associates
Ensuring store conditions are consistently upheld to establish standards
Assisting with stock management, merchandising and pricing to maximize sales
Providing and assisting to any and all day to day operations
Greeting and assisting customers in a way that models exemplary conduct to other staff members
Qualifications
Demonstrate exceptional leader ship and time management skills
Possess a superior customer service and communication skills
Can adapt to flexible environment, schedules and job challenges
Knowledge of hardware, housewares, and building and renovation products and or projects
Experience with computer based inventory management
Applicant must have two years in sales and customer service from similar retail environment
Applicant must hold a valid drivers license
Minimum 2 years in management, sales and customer service from a similar retail environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Minimum secondary school graduate certificate
Physical Demands
Job requires moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity
Performing duties for this job will require frequent lifting, sorting, carrying and placing merchandise and supplies up to 20kg without assistance and over 20 kg with team assistance
Work requires climbing up and down ladders
Job will require regular standing, walking, crouching and stooping
Operation of a forklift (training supplied)
