Summary
CSN Collision is seeking a detail-oriented Repair Planner to lead and manage the repair planning process. This role is responsible for ensuring all repair files are complete, accurate, and profitable from initial disassembly through to final file closure.
The Repair Planner reviews estimates for accuracy, prepares supplements post-disassembly, and ensures all billable items and OEM procedures are properly captured and communicated. Acting as a key link between estimating and production, this role ensures repairs are executed to standard and are fully documented for billing.
Job Description
- Review repair estimates for completeness, accuracy, and profitability, ensuring all labour, parts, and operations are properly captured
- Conduct thorough post-disassembly assessments and prepare detailed supplements to reflect the full scope of repairs
- Verify that all billable items, including labour, materials, and OEM-required procedures, are accurately documented
- Ensure all repairs are planned and performed in accordance with OEM guidelines, including scanning, calibrations, corrosion protection, and weld testing
- Prepare and communicate clear repair plans and documentation to production teams to support quality and efficiency
- Take ownership of the full repair file lifecycle, ensuring all documentation is complete and files are ready for billing and closure
- Identify and resolve discrepancies early to prevent delays, rework, or insurer rejections
- Communicate with insurers and adjusters to confirm repair scope, obtain approvals, and support proper reimbursement
- Monitor file quality and identify opportunities for process improvements and increased accuracy
- Utilize estimating software effectively, including reviewing assignments and understanding insurer requirements and terminology (e.g., loss of use, betterment, deductible, endorsements)
- Identify upsell opportunities and communicate them to the estimating team
- Capture high-quality photos of vehicle damage in accordance with shop and insurer requirements
- Determine when disassembly is required to produce an accurate repair plan (ARP process)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Utilize Mitchell Connect and Audatex software. Body Shop Connect, Collision link, Parts bridge, Progi Parts, Carpartpro, APU, Tesla epc, Repair Logic, Repair Stack,
- · At least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Collision Estimator
- · At least 5 years’ experience with Mitchell Connect and Audatex at a high proficiency level.
- · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- · Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean abstract.
- · Knowledgeable and be up to date in various Insurance “DRP” practices/guidelines.
- · I-CAR training would be an asset.
- · OEM Specific Training an asset.
- · Be professionally dressed and be a great CSN ambassador
