Job Description

Toyota Boshoku Canada is seeking a skilled and experienced Dual-Ticketed Industrial Electricians / Industrial Millwrights to join our Maintenance team. The successful candidate is preferred to hold valid qualifications in both trades: Industrial Electrician and Industrial Millwright.

This position supports our welding, injection moulding, robotics, and assembly operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting the Toyota Production System.

We are looking for a motivated professional with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise who can contribute to preventative maintenance, equipment improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Support manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, robotics, frame welding, seat assembly, IR ovens, presses, and door panel assembly.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, electrical circuits, motors, drives, and mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and machine specifications.
  • Identify and recommend technical solutions to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in Kaizen projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments to resolve equipment-related concerns.
  • Support new equipment installations, launches, and modifications.
  • Maintain compliance with established workplace safety procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications

Dual trade certification is preferred for this position.

  • Industrial Electrician – Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (442A, 309A or recognized equivalent).
  • Industrial Millwright – Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (433A or recognized equivalent).

Additional requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-skilled maintenance environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of the Toyota Production System is considered an asset.

Compensation and Wage Progression

Toyota Boshoku Canada recognizes dual-ticketed skilled trades professionals by providing an additional $1.05 per hour on top of their regular hourly wage.

Additional Premiums and Overtime

  • Dual-Ticket Premium: An additional $1.05 per hour is paid to employees who hold both required trade qualifications.
  • Afternoon Shift Premium: An additional $2.00 per hour is paid when working the afternoon shift, on top of the regular hourly wage and dual-ticket premium.
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times the applicable regular hourly wage after 40 hours worked per week.
