What You’ll Do

As Adhesive Chemist, you will report to the Director of R&D and will be responsible for the development of new adhesives driven by customer and market performance criteria, while also modifying existing products to improve competitiveness, regulatory changes, and performance needs. Additionally, you will research advances in raw material, establish test specifications, and conduct evaluations and benchmarking accordingly. Although much of your work will be completed independently, you will be a key member of the team collaborating with other departments to support and optimize production processing efficiency and the overall customer experience.

What You’ll Bring

To qualify for this exciting opportunity with Helmitin Inc., you will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field of study, complemented by several years of demonstrated experience in formulating, testing, and scaling solvent-borne systems – preferably adhesives & aerosols. You will also have experience meeting regulatory requirements such as low VOCs and specific chemical elimination. Your extensive knowledge of polymers, resins, solvents, and propellants will be important to this role as will your familiarity with test methodology (ASTM), destructive testing with tensiometer, and mixing equipment. You will be an exceptional critical-thinker with a strong desire to analyze and problem-solve to produce thought-out, creative solutions with a capacity to effectively communicate your findings into written reports and utilize Office 365 applications.
