The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of production equipment, plant facilities and mechanical assets with specific reference to fixes, replacement and installation of new machinery as well as preventative maintenance on existing assets as well as the management and development of the maintenance team.  They will be responsible for all reliability and maintenance functions at all Solis Foods Corporation St. Mary’s. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance
 
  • Provide leadership and support the implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance Systems
  • Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance program through Continuous Improvement strategies
  • Apply Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools for permanent corrective actions
  • Manage maintenance budgets and costing for projects
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance staffing levels are identified and maintained to provide the best service to the operation
  • Develop and implement world class maintenance tools, including work planning, Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (MSOP), and parts inventory management
  • Understand the operational key performance indicators (KPI’s) and the link to maintenance plans, then direct their team  to best support those results
Continuous Improvement
 
  •  Design and improve processes and equipment to optimize plant performance, safety, quality, waste, costs, and efficiencies
  • Provide collaboration with operations teams to identify opportunities for improvement and to address repeated downtime causes
  • Manage capital equipment installation, building and facility improvements, and major equipment rebuilds
  • Develop annual capital budgets and project expenses
  • Identify need for and manage supplementary contractors, including worker safety and meeting project deadlines
  • Develop and provide training and SOP documentation for all equipment and processes
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Ideally completion of post secondary education  (P. Eng or equivalent) and at least 5 years experience in a maintenance leadership role
  • 5+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical, electrical, and automation experience
  • Exceptional change management and communication skills
  • CMMS and MS Office experience
  • Familiarization of OHS regulations as it relates to maintenance activities and knowledge of building codes, laws, and regulations
  • Project Management tools experience
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform Root Cause and FMEA analysis
  • Previous supervisory or management leadership experience
  • Financial and Administration experience
