Express SRG is recruiting for a Direct hire Assistant Controller for a Large wholesale client in St. Mary's, ON. Reporting directly to the CFO; this position will be the financial expert for the organization and will be supervising a junior accounting team.

Responsibilities:(Not limited to: )

• Supervising, coaching and mentoring finance and administrative staff members
• Oversee accounts payable and account receivable
• Assist with month end closing by approving and entering journal entries
• Budgeting and forecasting
• General ledger account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements for review and approval by CFO
• Assist with year-end audit by preparing working papers for external auditors
• Prepare government filings and remittances / Annual reconciliations of EHT and WSIB
• Monthly bank reconciliation of multiple accounts – daily monitoring of account balances.
• Manage foreign exchange transactions
• Other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years accounting experience which includes some supervision
• CPA or working towards
• Knowledge of ERP computer systems an asset
• Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience
