Job Description

We are seeking Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law Clerk to join our Real Estate Department and provide commercial and residential real estate clerking services to our Partners and Associates. The available positions is in our Waterloo office.
Primary Duties:
  • Ability to manage files from beginning to end for purchases, sales and bank financings of residential, multi residential and retail industrial transactions;
  • Experience reading and interpreting title searches;
  • Drafting and coordination of required documentation up to closing, including status reports, final reports and other matters;
  • Ability to manage a large workload volume;
  • Adhering to strict deadlines;
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills;
  • Problem solving with minimal supervision;
  • Professional communication skills with clients, lawyers and team members;
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Real Estate Clerk role, within a legal environment;
  • Solid understanding of current legal terminology;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes; Word, Teraview and Conveyancer;
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and follow instructions with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

This individual has a professional attitude, is responsive, intelligent, resourceful, and has great client services skills.
