What you will do

The Specialist, Truth & Reconciliation role will be supporting Indigenous Talent Attraction and our Truth & Reconciliation Action plan:

Talent Attraction

  • Support the attraction and recruitment of Indigenous talent to the firm with recruitment partners, post-secondary institutions, employment partners, community partners and National Indigenous Peoples Network in both campus and experienced hire channels
  • Engage and build mutual trust with Indigenous talent to support the candidate career journey
  • Connect early Indigenous talent with scholarship, internship and mentorship opportunities
  • Play a leadership role in the development of innovative and inclusive campaigns including social media and presentation content focused on Indigenous communities

Truth & Reconciliation Action Plan

  • Support the advancement of our firm's Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan (T&RAP), a multi-year strategy that outlines our commitment to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action #92 for the corporate sector, working on initiatives that support the advancement of inclusion, education, allyship and equity for Indigenous Peoples at a national and regional level
  • Play a key role supporting the successful implementation of our T&RAP priorities
  • Measure, track, and share T&RAP progress and impact in a way that honours and upholds Indigenous methodologies and cultural traditions
  • Contribute to building and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships external Indigenous organizations and partnerships to advance T&RAP goals

What you bring to the role

  • Self-identifies as Indigenous to Canada (First Nations, Inuit or Métis). At KPMG we recognize the value of lived experience and cultural and community connection needed for the work.
  • 3+ years of professional work experience
  • Knowledge of the diverse realities and lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and/or Métis peoples
  • Experience developing and facilitating initiatives/programs informed by Indigenous experiences
  • Understanding of Truth & Reconciliation and the role of businesses
  • Experience working in partnership with Indigenous communities and/or Indigenous-led organizations
  • Experience working in Recruitment or Human Resources
  • University/ College- 3 years
  • Experience in MS Office Suite, Excel, Project Management, and/or data analytics

The successful candidate will require fluent written and verbal English as this individual will support a national team and stakeholders across Canada.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $82,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $82,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
