Preconstruction Director

Pay: $175,000-$215,000/year

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Preconstruction Director to lead our clients preconstruction efforts within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and organizational oversight for all preconstruction activities.

Pay: $175,000.00-$215,000.00 per year

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor the Estimating and Preconstruction Project Management teams.
  • Oversee budgeting, estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, and preconstruction planning activities.
  • Provide executive oversight on major bids, tenders, pursuit strategies, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, Finance, and Land Development teams to support project success.
  • Drive estimating accuracy, risk management, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support feasibility studies, cost modeling, and constructability reviews for land development projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, municipalities, and industry partners.
  • Champion innovation, technology adoption, and process improvements across the preconstruction function.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and support strategic business growth initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in construction estimating and preconstruction.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, estimating practices, site servicing, permitting, and project delivery models.
  • Experience supporting land development projects, feasibility studies, and cost planning.
  • Proficiency with industry software such as Bluebeam, Procore, OST, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and profitability targets.
