Assembler (Afternoon Shift)

We are looking for an Afternoon Assembler to join our team. You will assemble and test custom/leading edge equipment used primarily in the food industry. The Assembler is responsible for fitting, aligning, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical assemblies, quality, machining and much more. We are looking to add someone to our team who is diligent in their tasks, organized and a strong team player.
The Shift is Monday - Thursday from 3pm to 1:30am.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Assembles, fits, and aligns mechanical assemblies
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical assemblies
- Quality inspections
- Design and direct product tests
- Works closely with mechanical design team
- Active member of continuous improvement teams
- Organize outgoing projects and ensure completeness
- Assists fabricators or assemblers as directed
- Loading and offloading of freight
- Manual material handling, packaging, and crating
- Incoming inspections When required
- Test run equipment
- In accordance with company policy/ESA; overtime, work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience
- Prior assembly experience
- Welding and Fabrication experience an asset
- Knowledge in reading drawings considered a strong asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment
- Familiar with basic hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude
- Great attitude with a desire to learn and grow professionally
