Applications Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Applications Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the planning, design, and implementation of custom machinery and equipment. In this role, you’ll work directly with customers and internal engineering teams to define requirements, develop practical solutions, and help deliver safe, high-quality designs that meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with estimators to define opportunity requirements.
- Engage with the customer at a technical level to identify the specific deliverables.
- Develop concept drawings with estimators and customers to ensure a robust solution.
- Collaborate internally and externally with subject matter experts.
- Identify technical risks and their impact on the proposed solution to mitigate issues.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal teams and customers.
- Assistance in estimating labour and material cost for quoting purposes.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
- Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
- Develop and source out innovative methods for design, manufacturing, and processes.
- Attend training seminars when available.
- Participate in concept reviews, design kick offs and manufacturing reviews.
- Participate in/review testing results.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma preferred.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; Inventor experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the food industry, food safety, and sanitary design.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and solve complex technical problems.
- Able to communicate completed designs effectively using 2D/3D engineered drawings
- Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturing techniques
- Working knowledge of automated equipment

Salary Range For The Role: $70,000 to $90,000
The salary range provided in this posting is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location, as well as internal equity and budget considerations.
