Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced, talented individual to join our company as a Senior Financial Analyst. As part of our finance team, you support business operations through the preparation of annual budgets for various departments and business teams, as well as through analysis of key business information and drivers. You prepare forecasting assumptions to provide proactive information on the status of projects and company financial performance.  Your analysis and recommendations direct and drive operational decisions and have a considerable impact on the health of the organization. It is crucial that our Sr. Financial Analyst promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend regular meetings with Project Managers and stay informed on the status of current projects
  • Review job performance on a monthly basis and identify and communicate causal factors affecting variances
  • Assist Project Managers and Estimators to identify key assumptions and costs affecting project budgets and bring suggestions on how to meet those assumptions
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
  • Tracking KPIs and preparing financial reports.
  • Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement
  • Assisting with annual budgeting process
  • Assist with month end close processes, including account reconciliations and some journal entries
  • Maintain information in the fixed asset system and post monthly entries
  • Maintain fleet information and assist with registrations and sale of assets
  • Understanding key business drivers.
  • Developing financial projections and building financial models, both for individual jobs and company-wide
  • Complete quarterly forecasting
  • Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Full cycle accounting experience would be an asset
  • Previous experience working with NAV Dynamics is an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
