Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Finance will play an important role on the senior leadership team and provide effective oversight and management of the company’s financial affairs, including reporting and analysis, compliance monitoring, and short/long-term strategic planning. The Director of Finance will work collaboratively across the organization to identify financial risks and opportunities for improvement and provide detailed reporting based on critical analysis and trends to ensure the current and future financial health/stability of the business.
The proven and detailed-oriented Director of Finance will take a hands-on approach across the company to increase operational efficiency while providing strategic leadership, mentoring, and guidance to a team of Finance professionals. This visionary leader will exemplify the company’s values and ensure financial awareness, adherence, and understanding across the corporation while motivating their team to high-performance levels to exceed the organization's goals. Likewise, the forward-thinking Director of Finance will establish annual and multi-year objectives and targets for the Finance department in alignment with company strategy. In addition, this integrity-based Finance professional will oversee all finance activities, including plans and policies, accounting practices, adherence to policies and usage of SOPs, and monitoring department KPIs and budgets to ensure key deliverables are met or exceeded.
To qualify for this rewarding opportunity, the successful candidate will have a relevant university degree and hold a CPA, CA, or CMA designation. This leader will also possess a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, with a minimum of 7 years effectively managing a cross-functional team within a high-growth organization. Likewise, this detail-oriented leader will have working knowledge of federal and provincial legislation related to financial reporting and a strong understanding of accounting systems (ex. AccPac, MS Dynamics), technology trends, and analytics, with previous oversight of accounting teams. Finally, the Director of Finance will exhibit a self-starter attitude, a capacity to solve issues independently, exceptional interpersonal skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional business teams throughout the organization and with key external stakeholders.
