POSITION:
MANAGER, District Stroke Centre
Full Time Position
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Program Director, Medicine and Stroke, the Manager is responsible for the management of the District Stroke Centre, including the Secondary Prevention Clinic, and the Specialized Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team ensuring quality patient care and competent, safe practice. The District Stroke Centre supports the hospitals and community-based agencies throughout the Huron Perth District responsible for health promotion and prevention of stroke in building inter-organizational relationships.
REPORTS TO: Program Director, Medicine and Stroke
DATE REQUIRED: April, 2014
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A member of a Regulated Health Profession in good standing with the respective College
Experience:
- Recent relevant clinical and managerial experience.
- Involvement with clinical pathways, utilization, best practice guidelines/standards of practice and other Quality Improvement projects.
- Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation
- Demonstrated knowledge of current rehabilitation practices and evidence based protocols for stroke care
- Experience in both hospital and community service delivery
Abilities:
- Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, change management, evaluation, planning and utilization
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
- Demonstrated leadership, interprofessional team building, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with building working relationships with interdisciplinary healthcare team, community partners and involvement with integration projects
- Ability to set priorities and work independently.
- Proven interpersonal, interviewing, counseling and conflict management/resolution skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient and staff safety and exemplary patient/customer experience
- Demonstrated analytical skills in collection and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data
- Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software
- Effective presentation skills
- A valid Ontario driver’s license
