Job Description

Payroll Administrator:

AOC Resins & Coatings produces polyester resins and coatings for a global market. The company is seeking a Payroll Administrator at its Guelph plant.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Processing of payroll for hourly weekly, salaried semi-monthly payroll
including commission pay for Canada (including Quebec)
* Ensuring that payroll data is collected, input, processed, balanced, and
verified. Responsible for maintaining confidential payroll data records
as well as the maintenance of an effective auditable Pay Accounting
system for external auditors and audits by federal & provincial
authorities.
* Reconciling and processing all year-end documents (T4's, T4A's and RL1
and their respective summaries, T2200) as well as WSIB, CSST, EHT
QHSF reporting and reconciliation.
* Performs payments for 3rd party requirements (garnishees, family
support, etc.) Calculate all taxable benefits.
* Preparation of Records of Employment and responding to Service
Canada enquiries and requests.
* Administer DCPP for all plan members. Transmit pension entitlements
and remittances via on-line uploads. Calculate pension adjustment
figures, issue Retiring Allowances.
* Prepare internal and external reports related to Management and HR.

Required qualifications:
* 3-5 years of experience working with a computerized payroll system.
ADP PCPW preferred.
* Enrollment in and/or completion of a PCP or CPM certification is
considered an asset.
*Thorough knowledge of generally accepted payroll principles,
employment standards, and collective bargaining agreements.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
* Experience working with benefit and pension plans.
* Experience working with a Time and Attendance System (specifically
Stromberg) is an asset.
* Demonstrated communication, organizational, problem solving and
prioritizing skills.
* Proven abilities in working independently, exercising initiative and
good judgement, sensitivity and confidentiality in dealing with
employees.
* Experience working in a union environment is a definite asset.
