Job Summary

Compiles data pertinent to manufacture of special products for customers by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customer regularly to understand and keep informed of new projects and customer expectations
  • Read correspondence from customers to determine needs of customer not met by standard products
  • Confer with engineering department to ascertain manufacturing ability of potential products
  • Confer with production and engineering personnel to determine feasibility of fabrication and to obtain estimate production time
  • Estimate costs related to material, process assembly and administration
  • Correspond with customer to inform of production progress and costs
  • Work in conjunction with other responsibilities issued by Sales Manager
  • Report on customer requirements and expectations related to current and new projects
  • Attend or lead project meetings

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain pricing in AS400 orders for all customer products
  • Invoicing for customer trails, tooling, obsolescence, etc.
  • Support purchasing activities for solicitation of quotation and cost control of materials, components and tooling
  • Maintain required sales documentation for the Vuteq system manual
  • Support customer engineering changes including cost and timing
  • Support collection of cost accounting data

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

  • Database software (AS400), Internet software, order processing systems, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software

Working Conditions

Physical Effort and Requirements of this Position

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 25lbs

Intellectual Activities and Requirements of this Position
Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
