Human Resources Assistant
Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring. The Board is currently seeking a Full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Coordinator of Human Resources, the role of Human Resources Assistant will encompass all facets of human resources including salary administration, leaves of absence, maintenance of HRIS, job postings, orientation of new staff, and responding to inquiries. The Human Resources Assistant will also provide backup support for the automated dispatch system.
Qualifications:
All submissions are to include a complete cover letter, resume, qualifications, and the names of three (3) professional references at least one of which must be a current supervisor (one document if submitted electronically). All new employees are required to provide an original Police Record Check (which includes a “vulnerable sector search”) acceptable to the Board prior to the commencement of employment.

Any assessment and selection materials and processes used in the interview process can be made available in an accessible format, upon request in advance.
All submissions are subject to a screening process and some applicants may not be granted interview.

Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduation diploma, supported with a relevant community college diploma;
- Minimum three (3) years related experience in an equivalent role;
- Completion of or working towards a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation would be an asset;
- Strong customer service focus with an equally strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
- Excellent organizational, and superior interpersonal and communication skills are combined with the need for attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion;
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment but also self-directed and can work independently with minimum supervision;
- Demonstrated competency with use of computers and a variety of software applications including HRIS.
