Now in its 20th year of operations, Magenta has grown to become the largest non-institutional mortgage lender in Eastern Ontario. The Company sources, underwrites and manages a mortgage portfolio secured by properties located primarily in metropolitan Ottawa, and throughout Eastern Ontario. We are currently staffing up in advance of a significant geographic expansion to the Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and London regions.
OVERVIEW OF POSITION – MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER:
The Company is seeking a mortgage underwriter with significant experience underwriting residential, commercial and construction applications. This position is primarily responsible for the adjudication of new mortgage applications. This entails determination of the credit worthiness of customers based on established lending criteria, exception management and pricing determinations all while meeting performance targets, ensuring adherence to service standards and building exceptional third party relationships.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of underwriting experience in broker referred mortgage lending including residential, commercial and construction files. Preference will be given to those with recent and demonstrable non-conforming / alternative lending experience.
This new position will be staffed in either our Kanata or Perth office. The successful applicant will join our existing team of Underwriters and work directly with our Senior Management, Mortgage Administration and Post Closing Administration teams in support of our operation.
