Job Description

We are currently looking to hire one Expiditor to work at one of our client sites in London! Our client is a hydraulic equipment supplier and is looking for someone to join their team that is looking for longevity with a growing organization. 

Position Type:                   Full time Permanent with benefits package after probation
Office Hours:                     Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Summary:

Responsible for supporting the local manufacturing operation to facilitate the flow of materials in our client's business by providing timely resolution and accurate status of all urgent and/or critical material issues. The expeditor will oversee and facilitate all activities related to receiving and dispatching shipments and act as a liaison between the local manufacturing operation, external vendors and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support Program and/or Plant level meetings by providing status on critical materials and taking actions to resolve the respective Program’s critical material needs.
  • Responsible for the follow-up of material shortages through delivery to manufacturing.
  • Lead collection of all Export Controlled documents that may be needed from a supplier for the purpose of procuring and/or receiving material.
  • Responsible for monitoring and taking actions necessary to resolve material related discrepancies and rejections, including material delivered without all required documentation and/or complete information on those documents, receiving inspection rejections, material returns to suppliers, and coordination with suppliers on material pulled for re-inspection.
  • Coordinating stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as the sales and finance departments.
  • Analyzing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.
  • Facilitating flow of materials between various departments and parties.
  • Examining job cost reports for inconsistencies, such as mischarges.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of locally required procurement related metrics and KPIs
Required skills/qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient understanding of materials flow and procurement
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills.
  • A condition of employment will be passing a criminal background check to ensure eligibility under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP).  Candidates must be either Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to qualify for CGP.
