IS2 is hiring a full-time Machine Operator in Fergus

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate production machines to manufacture electrical cables according to design specifications
• Read design recipes and cable drawings to ensure proper setup
• Select appropriate tooling and raw materials for each production run
• Set up and clean equipment prior to production
• Conduct in-process and finished product quality checks, including visual inspections and precise measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, microscopes, precision scales, and tensile testing equipment
• Monitor machines during production, flagging non-conforming products and ensuring quality standards are met
• Feed raw materials into machines and remove finished goods as needed
• Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, reach trucks, forklifts, and overhead cranes
• Label in-process and finished goods accurately
• Perform autonomous maintenance tasks, including filter changes, oil top-ups, greasing, and inspecting bearings, sheaves, and rollers
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 7S practices
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams

Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

• Achieve zero non-conforming products reaching final inspection
• Maintain consistent machine uptime and production efficiency
• Ensure all documentation and labeling are accurate
• Follow all safety protocols with zero incidents

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Knowledge of electrical cable production or similar processes is an asset
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Valid forklift certification is an asset
