Job Description

We are currently seeking an individual to join our finance and business support department as a Project Accountant in the Innerkip, ON Head Office.
Reporting to the CFO, the Project Accountant impacts the organization by assisting with all project related accounting activities, being a direct line between finance and the Project Managers as well as providing support to the overall Finance and Business Support team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensures the proper tracking, analysis and forecasting of ongoing projects.
Ensures project is invoiced correctly as per contract terms.
Ensures all required documentation including insurance, bonding, WSIB and stat declarations are received and in place.
Set-up and issue all project numbers
Prepare annual Sub contractor reports
Monitor and analyze subcontractor costs
Preparation of sub-contractors’ agreements
Review cost reports to verify budgets, contracts and subcontracts have been properly tracked.
Assembles client billing packages in accordance with procedures and processes to ensure timely payments
Monitor payment status on all contracts
Maintain active job list & communications with project managers, subcontractors and support staff to resolve problematic issues.
Perform project reviews with Project management staff.

Skills & Qualifications:

Post Secondary education, ideally a 3-year College Diploma with an accounting specialization,
5+ years experience in a similar role
Knowledge of the construction industry considered an asset
Advanced computer skills, proficiency in MS Office specifically Excel is required.
Knowledge of Jonas Construction Software considered an asset
Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work independently while supporting the team objectives.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
Effective communication skills with all levels within the organization
