Quality Assurance / Health and Safety

The primary responsibilities of this position fall under two distinct categories; Quality Assurance and Health & Safety:  

1. For Quality Assurance, the position will support the Company Quality Policy and Quality Management System, assess products throughout the production process, create a go/no go check point system, provide final approval before the product is released, and create/maintain required standards and records. 
    
2. For Health and Safety, the position will support the Company Health and Safety Management System to ensure that health and safety standards and legislation are met, inspect the workplace, and ensure that staff are appropriately trained and kept up to date.

The work is performed at our Goderich location. The usual work pattern is Monday to Friday. The wage rate for this new position will be competitive and reflect the skills required to successfully perform this work to the high standards we require, as well as the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. An employer paid premium based benefit plan is provided after four months of employment.
 
Candidates are expected to live in Goderich or the immediate area, or be prepared to relocate within this area during the first four months of employment.
 
Basic Requirements (candidates without these criteria will not be considered)

• Post-Secondary education in Quality Assurance with a significant exposure to workplace Health and Safety issues and some formal training, or Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety with a significant exposure to Quality Assurance issues and some formal training
• A minimum of two years’ experience working in either the Quality Assurance field and/or the Occupational Health and Safety Field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• A commitment to promoting a positive, productive, safe and harassment-free workplace
• A commitment to regular, reliable and timely attendance

 
Preferential consideration will be given to candidates who have

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• More than two years’ experience working in either the Quality Assurance or Occupational Health and Safety field
