Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Production Scheduler is responsible for supporting the growth and success of Tri Mach Inc. by effective management of the deadlines throughout each project as well as guiding and supporting individual departments, their managers/supervisors and employees, working with Operations on strategic planning activities and creating efficiencies within the manufacturing environment. We are looking for someone that is eager to continue their professional career, that is a strong team player, results-oriented, professional and an out-of-the-box thinker.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Work with team to manage project timelines and budgets avoiding cost overruns created by poor scheduling or lack of project information

§  Hold department accountable for defined project timelines

§  Track and record reasons for deadlines that are missed

§  Work with operations on solutions to correct above issues

§  Liaise with Operations team on kick-off meetings and project releases to manufacturing

§  Oversee OTD KPI’s for each dept

§  Review daily open PO’s for incoming parts and material required for deadlines

§  Assist purchasing with supply delays and alternate part numbers

§  Review daily the shop floor and discuss timelines with Shop Manager to ensure accuracy

§  Adjust for any unforeseen warranty issues and apply hours for scheduling purposes

§  Review current and upcoming jobs with PM’s

§  Work with PM’s on adjusting dates when necessary to ensure customer is informed of any delays or early deliveries

§  Interpret and react to backlog and timeline reports from Engineering

§  Chair production meeting and improve based on info critical to all parties involved (PM, Shop, Eng, etc.)

§  Ensure regular, positive communication with employees, fostering a positive work culture.

§  Develop methods for improved employee communication within department and company

§  Respond to employee inquiries regarding deadlines, projects and customer feedback

§  Maintain a confidential, friendly and approachable demeanour

§  Participate as a key member of the strategic task force for future planning on products and entry into new sectors

§  Liaison with R&D Manager for new product develop aligned with the strategic vision of the company

§  Assist in the research and implantation of a MRP system to aid in production planning

§  Drive technology and automation activities where possible within organization to improve design and manufacturing

§  In accordance with company policy/ESA; overtime, work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company

§  All other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

§  Design, fabrication and Millwright experience an asset

§  Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred

§  3+ years experience of fabrication and operations experience

§  Working knowledge of Solidworks 3D modeling and AutoCAD 2D. Inventor 3D experience an asset.

§  Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment and work independently on various projects.

§  Able to problem solve and use critical thinking in fast-paced, agile environment.

§  Able to maintain professionalism when dealing with clients in all interfaces.

§  Able to communicate timelines efficiently and effectively

§  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

§  Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturing techniques

§  Working knowledge of automated equipment

§  Comprehensive understanding of metal fabricating equipment and processes

§  Applied knowledge of Continuous Improvement techniques

§  Candidate should excel in a team-based environment and willing to share ideas and experiences.

§  Strong leadership skills and conflict resolution an asset

§  Must have experience with ERP or MRP systems
