Manager of Facility Services

Salary Range $122,415 - $133,550 (Under Review)

The Thames Valley District School Board is one of the largest boards of education in Ontario, covering Elgin, Oxford and Middlesex Counties, including the City of London.  With approximately 74,000 elementary and secondary students, supported by more than 7,600 teachers, principals and support staff, the Board is also one of the largest employers in southwestern Ontario.  Thames Valley currently operates 132 elementary and 27 secondary schools, with an operating budget in excess of $900 million.

Thames Valley is looking for an innovative and dynamic individual who wishes to join a progressive leadership team.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Facility Services & Capital Planning, and as a member of the senior management team, the Manager of Facility Services directs a variety of operational functions within the department that impact the working and learning environments for students and staff and has a shared accountability with other senior administrators for establishing and achieving the department’s strategic goals.  The Manager provides leadership to numerous supervisory and support staff in custodial and maintenance services, distribution services, and community use of facilities.

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed a three (3) year degree or diploma program in engineering technology or building operations, or a two (2) year diploma combined with a recognized trade certification.  Seven (7) years of leadership experience in the management of maintenance, custodial or facility services including responsibility for supervising staff, preferably in a unionized environment, or leading work teams is required.
