 Our Group Benefits Total Administration (GBTA) operations team provides benefits administration outsourcing services for plan sponsors and is a key element of our growth strategy in Group Benefits. Our vision for GBTA is to be the provider of choice, recognized for our service and relationship excellence, deep customer insight and innovative solutions. 
 
To help us get there, we've created this exciting new role that will be accountable for leading the GBTA operations team through our change priorities to achieve our vision.
 
 
Role Summary 
The Director, GB Total Administration Operations is responsible for the execution and oversight of our service strategy and service delivery, ensuring execution of the operations structure is in place to handle new client implementation and existing clients’ service requests.
In this role, the Director, GB Total Administration Operations, will be a critical and integral member of the GB Operations leadership team and will lead a team of consultants and senior consultants located in multiple locations who are effectively able to execute our service strategy and support the potential for onboarding large complex clients with service requirements that are new to Group Operations.
This dynamic leader will also represent Sun Life Financials' strategy and solution at client meetings, client presentations (new business opportunities), internal and external discussions, and conferences across the nation.  In addition, the role will contribute to the overall strategy by identifying and investigating innovative solutions.

Knowledge: 
 
  • In-depth knowledge and experience within the industry as a successful senior leader 
  • In-depth understanding of Group Benefits and administrative practices and excellent knowledge of flex benefits plans 
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business processes and applications: GB administration, payroll, member enrolment (ME), demographic file feeds
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the products, systems, processes and roles that exist in an outsourced administration operation

 
Requirements 
 
  • University degree with 10+ years of relevant experience Minimum 10+ years’ experience with the majority of those years in employee benefits or relevant industry experience and related knowledge 
  • Previous leadership experience, the ability to grow new business opportunities and exceed customer expectations
