Our team is growing, and we're looking for Laboratory Technicians to join our Construction Services, Materials Engineering and Laboratory Group in Cambridge, Ontario. In this role, you'll work alongside a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff, contributing directly to the quality and reliability of construction projects across the province. Your work will support WSP's commitment to technical excellence, safety, and innovation in materials testing and laboratory services.
Your Impact
- Perform laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials in accordance with recognized industry standards
- Generate accurate, timely test data and reports that support project delivery and client decision-making
- Contribute to CCIL certification activities, ensuring compliance with laboratory quality requirements
- Maintain laboratory equipment through calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping to support safe and reliable operations
- Support the laboratory quality control program, including internal and external audits and non-conformance investigations
- Manage samples safely and efficiently, including shipping, receiving, logging, storage, and disposal
- Collaborate with field technicians, technologists, administrative staff, professionals, and clients to deliver integrated project outcomes
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Completion of high school or post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline (preferred)
- Experience working in a soil or materials laboratory (preferred, but not required)
- Willingness to learn CCIL laboratory certification processes, equipment maintenance, calibration, and proficiency testing programs
- Ability to obtain Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) Type C certification
- Strong time management, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry, interpretation, and report generation
- A strong commitment to health and safety, with a safety-conscious mindset

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $51,800 – $68,600
MB & ON: $47,200 – $65,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $46,800 – $62,100
