Our successful and growing automotive parts manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join a thriving operation with growth potential. A summary of responsibilities is listed below:

Responsibilities:

• Provide primary support for new product launch.
• QA Support for Mass Production.
• Support supplier process/part approval and development.
• Support development of FMEA Control Plan and APQP.
• Responsible for PPAP submission.
• Participate in improvement projects between Suppliers and internal processes to achieve internal quality goals.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Process capability assessment through SPC.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering/Quality Assurance or similar
• Ideally we are looking for experience with Stamping and Welding processes.
• Experience with product launch/PPAP submission “Core Tools”
• Hands on experience in APQP
• Five years previous experience in automotive manufacturing in product launch
• Practical measurement skills with basic tools – calipers, micrometers etc.
• Experience with attribute QC fixtures
• Experience with GD&T, SPC
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Familiar with requirements of TS 16949 quality system
• Strong technical and analytical aptitudes for problem solving
• Ability to read / understand engineering blueprints, standards, etc.
• Computer literate – MS Word and Excel
• Strong interpersonal and team skills
