In partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., Zelus is seeking a motivated, driven, and energetic HR/Health & Safety Manager to join their Stoney Creek, Ontario team!

Reporting to the Controller, the HR/Health & Safety Manager will partner with the company’s leaders on integrated talent management initiatives in support of the overall business strategy and possess an enthusiasm for developing an employee-focused safety culture that emphasizes an environment of quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.

This leader’s strategic focus will include workforce planning, sourcing and recruitment, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, and leadership development. This analytical and resourceful HR professional will also be responsible for the development and implementation of HR policies, projects, and programs across the organization with a focus on enhancing organizational performance, engagement, and conformance with legislative requirements. Likewise, this resourceful professional will implement EHS policies and procedures; organize MSD prevention efforts and monitor safety trends for incident reduction/elimination; assist in accident/incident/illness investigations; and conduct job hazard assessments while assisting with the development of appropriate controls for all equipment and processes.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you will have a post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business, Occupational Health & Safety, or an equivalent field of study, preferably coupled with a completed CHRP or CRSP designation or are working towards completion. You will have proven Human Resources experience including the ability to foster effective employee relations and programs to support organizational culture and employee engagement and you will have extensive knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Human Rights Legislation, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act. You will also have a strong appreciation for organization and time management to adapt and perform efficiently within a fast-paced working environment. Additionally, you will be familiar with a variety of HR related software with hands-on experience and will be proficient in MS Office including the development of spreadsheets in Excel. An understanding of the dynamics of the heavy equipment industry will be considered an asset. You will bring insightful Health and Safety knowledge as it relates to various portals
