Are you a certified payroll professional with previous experience supporting payroll processing within a large organization? Do you have in depth knowledge/experience with both Canadian and US payroll processing? Are you looking for a new opportunity to continue your development within a corporate environment? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!
We are currently looking for a Payroll Coordinator to support our client, a leading Canadian insurance firm, in their Waterloo office. In this role you will work full time hours on a 12 month assignment, and earn a rate competitive within the industry. As a Payroll Coordinator your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Calculate and process transactions included in the Gross to Net payroll including: regular pay (salary), incentive payments, one-time payments, termination pay (voluntary & involuntary), vacation on termination, leave payments, overpayments & recovery, voluntary deductions, garnishments, employee tax set-up, record of employee (ROE),
• Payroll processing including: semi-monthly timesheet processing and adjustments
• Research, resolve and respond to escalated payroll inquiries
• Ad-hoc duties as instructed.

Qualifications
• 5 years’ experience, hold PCP designation with the Canadian Payroll Association, US Payroll experience, US certified
• CPA (Canadian Payroll Association) or APA Certification or in progress
• Working knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage & hours legislation
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to focus in a busy environment
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• High attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to follow complex verbal & written direction and instructions .
