Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide expertise in the area of ABA instructional methods, conduct data driven functional behavior assessments/analysis as well as develop functional based behavior support plans and safety plans.  The candidate will monitor and interpret functional behavior interventions and data recording systems and work as a team with an assigned Lead Educational Assistant to implement and release responsibility of a functional based behavior support plan to school staff.  This individual will complete risk assessments associated with active and possible Ministry of Labour work refusals as well as provide consultation and any necessary documentation in the development of Special Incident Portion files.  The candidate will liaise between home, school, system staff and community (as appropriate) as well as actively participate as a member of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) team (including but not limited to ABA coordinator, System LRT’s for autism, Behaviour Counsellor for Connections and Lead EA’s).  The individual will also build capacity by offering professional development to school and system staff (including Behaviour Management Systems) and participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team (i.e. resource team meetings, case conferences, work refusal meetings, Identification Placement and Review Committee meetings). In addition, provide input as required in decisions about student placement in classrooms specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder or Behaviour Strategies and support implementation of Ministry of Education policy to be compliant with PPM 140 and PPM 156.

Hours of Work 7 hours per day/35 hours per week
Rate of Pay $75,183 - $88,714 annual salary

Candidates that are within 12 months of writing the BCBA examination will be considered for this position. If offered a conditional BCBA Behaviour Analyst position, the successful candidate is required to provide proof that they successfully passed the examination to Human Resources as soon as the results are available and within 12 months of conditional employment.
