Job Description

Aisin Canada is a Japanese auto parts manufacturer located in Stratford, Ontario.  We produce parts for the Toyota Corolla, RAV4 and Lexus in a bright, climate controlled facility.  We are committed to continuous improvement and training our employees so they can reach their full potential.

Position Summary
  • Responsible for Quality Launch activities
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve customer quality problems and concerns. Continual liaison and communication with customers and suppliers for the prevention and resolution of quality issues. The “Customer First” motto shall be demonstrated
  • Responsible for the assigned line to meet and exceed the set quality targets
  • Creation of all core documents pertaining to product line
New Model Launch Activity
  • Develop new and existing supplies for new model
  • Communicate with customer and design group to understand requirements
  • Process development for new equipment and tooling
  • Manage supplier, customer and Company timelines to ensure conformance
  • Verify incoming and outgoing product for conformance
  • Develop systems for new process to ensure smooth launch and conformance
  • Review supplier quality documents for new model launch
  • Coordinate shipping of trial parts for new model
  • Negotiate with customer and supplier for any changes to specification
Customer/ Internal Problem Resolution
  • Support current commodity - training QS, new team members
  • Support customer and internal issues to ensure existing systems are not jeopardized 
  • Report any customer issues at daily production meeting
  • Hold meetings with different departments within organization for problem resolution
  • Report out any counter measure activities to internally and to the customer
  • Negotiate customer/ suppliers for change
  • Creating dispositions of non-conforming product either by reworking or using :as is” as per negotiation with customer 
  • Design, install, maintain and kaizen the quality inspection/test plans for the product line. This includes FMEA’s, MQC’s, Receiving Inspections, F/O Inspections, Dock audits, PA and PPAP preparations, Product Validation and submissions for new products.
Creating/ updating work instruction
  • Create sorting work instructions for complex issues
  • Update and maintain quality documents
  • Maintain daily contact at line side to check for and analyze problems  taking immediate action and working with the Production Team on improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate the CAR or concern resolutions and closures from customers, internal concerns and suppliers in cross functional meetings as required
  • Maintain excellent contact with customers concerning quality issues and impact of countermeasures.  Follow up on in-house countermeasures and ensure effectiveness
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Ability to develop, create and maintain  Inspection Standards, PFMEAs,  MQCs, Control Plans, Procedural flows and other core quality documents
  • At least 3 years of related experience with a Tier 1 automotive supplier working directly with automotive OEM’s.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise with root cause analysis and other disciplined problem solving methodologies.
  • Ability to use geometry, statistics and GD&T.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use software programs such as Excel, MS Word and Power point
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Metrology skills, CMM programming experience
  • Surfacing & Manipulation of Cad Data using Solidworks
  • Ability to be assertive while maintaining a positive and professional approach at all times
  • Must be comfortable communicating with Engineers, Managers, Customers & Suppliers
  • Internal auditor ISO/TS System
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Arc Welding and resisitance welding experience
  • Experience with roll formed metal parts highly preferred.
  • Experience with body components highly preferred.
  • Toyota methodology experience is highly preferred
Education/Training/Certifications Required
  • Quality Engineering Diploma or equivalent
  • CQE certification or plan to achieve is required.
Travel Required
  • 20% travel to customer and supplier sites.
  • Over night travel may be required.
