Our client, a recognized food processing manufacturer, is seeking an analytical, engaging, and perceptive Controller to join their facility in London, Ontario!

Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Controller for London and Mitchell plants will lead a team of five for all financial and operational reporting, related analysis, cost accounting, payroll and routine processing objectives.

What You Will Do

In the oversight of effective financial and accounting operations, you will lead, coach, mentor, develop, and train the accounting team to high-performance. You will partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure consistency and accuracy in all reporting and analysis as they relate to operational or financial metrics. Additionally, you will drive process improvement initiatives to ensure effective and efficient accounting, while increasing resources against value-added analysis and operational improvements. You will also manage the month-end close process and complete financial reporting with in-depth variance analysis, meeting all deadlines. Likewise, you will support the enforcement of closing timelines, helping business partners become more efficient in the close process – daily, weekly, monthly. You will also be responsible for managing all general ledger functions, providing support for ERP systems, and ensuring all reconciliations are reviewed and completed on a monthly basis.

What You Will Bring

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration, coupled with a CPA Professional Accounting Designation, preferably within a food processing environment. You have many years of experience in a similar role as a proven and independent Controller with expertise in operations accounting and analysis including Master Cost Model and business analysis. Additionally, you will have advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of financial systems, master data governance, AS400, and ERP system(s). You have a continuous improvement mindset, leadership in establishing a customer-centric and business partner culture, and a great level of attention to detail.

Salary: $100K-$120K
