• Develop, analyze, and implement innovative, cost effective design solutions for Open Channel/Closed Vessel UV disinfection equipment
• Perform analytical calculations in the field of applied mechanics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and tolerance stack-up to ensure integrity of design solution
• Carry out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of related engineering or scientific theory, principles and practices.
• Build rapid prototypes of product concepts to illustrate design concepts
• Produce professional design drawings / documentation
• Participate in testing and field verification
• Formulate concept improvements based on test results
• Participate in design reviews to offer ideas and recommendations from tests performed
• Implement final design through the organization, working with other functional areas such as Manufacturing Operations and Service.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineering associates in area of expertise

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Intermediate to Senior level Mechanical Engineer / Technologist with 5+ years of related field experience
• Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a product development team
• Proven working knowledge and experience of mechanical design
• Proficient in using Solidworks CAD software and strong computer skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to use initiative and good judgment in the application of standard procedures
• Pressure vessel experience would be an asset
