OPERATIONS LEADER - AFTERNOON SHIFT

The Operations Leader (Afternoon Shift) will be responsible for providing direct supervision and support to assigned Facility Services staff under the direction of the Facility Services Supervisors and in conjunction with the Day Shift Operations Leaders to ensure that all buildings are maintained in accordance with relevant Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) policies and procedures and legislated acts and regulations. Responsible for effective implementation of training and orientation of new employees, staffing, scheduling and work priorities within the assigned zones. Responsible to oversee and inspect contracted services within Facility Operations that may include custodial services, building finishes, preventative maintenance, grounds care and waste management. Must be prepared to work alternate shifts when required.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:  Knowledge of pertinent codes and legislation. Possess a good working knowledge of custodial systems and procedures, building finishes, fire alarms, mechanical (HVAC) and electrical systems. Ability to prepare written reports and detailed estimates. Leadership and team organizing ability. A high level of demonstrated problem solving ability. A valid Ontario Driver’s licence and a vehicle. Successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary program in building operations / management from a recognized institution or equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years related work experience of which at least three (3) years experience are in building operations / maintenance and two (2) years are in a management or supervisory capacity in an unionized environment.  The incumbent must demonstrate sufficient technical and interpersonal skills to successfully meet the expectations of this position.

SALARY RANGE:         $63,732 - $ 84,281
HIRING RANGE:           $63,732 - $81,345
