Job Description
LARG*net has an immediate opening for a Network Operations Analyst. This position assists with supporting LARG*net and its members by providing front-line support, gathering customer information, analyzing symptoms, and determining underlying problems. Responsibilities include providing email and phone support to LARG*net members, regular monitoring and prioritizing of helpdesk tickets, tracking and sending change control notices, resolving basic to moderate network issues, identifying and escalating critical problems to the Network Administrator. The following qualifications are required for this position:
- Solid problem-solving skills with demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Working skill and knowledge in Cisco hardware and software configuration.
- Good knowledge of networking equipment, principles, and related protocols.
- Experience with network and routing protocol technologies (OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
- Experience with network and cyber security.
- A strong knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Some knowledge of database administration.
- Some experience with scripting/programming languages.
- A Cisco Certification - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- A degree in Computer Science or diploma in Computer Technology.
- 2 years’ experience working in information technology or networking fields, including co-op experience from an accredited computer technology program.
