Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, is the largest Veterinary Supplier in Ontario and is currently looking to add a dynamic individual within our I.T. department for the full-time position of:

Software Tester / IT Business Analyst

Reporting to the I.T. Manager, the Software Tester / IT Business Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders to identify technical needs, define solutions, and maximize opportunities. The Technical Business Analyst will lead the research and solution of complex problems.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and analyzing system specifications
  • Executing test scripts and reviewing results
  • Reporting and documenting technical issues
  • Defining and documenting stakeholder business functions and processes and analyze information for any process improvement opportunities.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Conduct independent and strategic research on the solutions to be developed, and the users they are being developed for.
  • Liaising between stakeholders to ensure we are accurately interpreting needs into functional solutions.
  • Writing business, user ,technical and testing documentation  
  • Continuous analysis of the feasibility and efficacy of developing systems.
  • Documenting changes for functional and business specifications in a format that can be understood by all stakeholders.
  • Develop and/or update user documentation, training manuals, and system specifications.
  • Gathering and sharing relevant information and reports using analytics, industry / competitive research and trends.
  • Participating in test case definition and user acceptance testing.
  • Assist in ERP system configurations and administration, document integrations, and multi-tier data warehouse architecture

The successful Candidate should have:
 
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Software Tester or similar role
  • Proven knowledge of testing methodologies, principles, within SDLC and DevOps / Agile.
  • Proven planner who lives in the details but thinks about the big picture
  • Critical thinker willing to ask tough questions
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Experienced in the use of JIRA / Confluence
  • Advanced knowledge of Cognos, MS Excel, SSRS
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehouse and relational databases
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A commitment to CQI – Constant Quality Improvement
  • Demonstrates initiative, diligence, and a positive attitude.
