Aisin Canada is a Japanese auto parts manufacturer located in Stratford, Ontario.  We produce parts for the Toyota Corolla, RAV4 and Lexus in a bright, climate controlled facility.  We are committed to continuous improvement and training our employees so they can reach their full potential.

Position Summary          
The general purpose of this position is to direct and implement daily accounting reporting and tax activities.  Set up procedures for implement planning, budgeting and forecasting.  Financial management and cash flow management. Assist in cost planning, cost estimation and cost reduction activities.
 
Position Responsibilities
  • Direct and Implement daily accounting reporting and taxation activities
  • Supervise and participate to prepare financial statements and reports
  • Directs the maintenance of the general ledger; oversees all accounts and ledgers to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Establish system controls for financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems
  • Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and financial reporting
  • Implement cost variance analysis and rate studies; to be reviewed monthly with management
  • Preparation of quarterly tax return
  • Coordinating with third party auditing firms for annual tax return
  • Set up procedures for implement planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Organize and participate in preparation of company’s 3 year strategy plan
  • Prepare annual budget and revised half year budget
  • Prepare company’s monthly practical plan (forecasts)
  • Financial and cash flow management
  • Prepare annual cash flow forecast and assist in loan limit application to corporate office
  • Prepare analysis of month cash flow forecast and variances
  • Arranging for long and short term financing with Corporate office
  • Managing overdraft loans account with Corporate office
  • Arrange for hedging transactions for foreign exchange risks
  • Coordinate with local financial institutions for daily cash management
  • Monitor company assets and liabilities (inventory, fixed assets, accounts receivable and payable); kaizen to improve relevant ratio and/or utilization
  • Assist in cost planning, cost estimation and cost reduction
  • Assist in cost planning activities for each product model
  • Assist in cost estimation activities
  • Assist in standard cost calculation
  • Assist in improving cost reduction activities (Max K and CR)
  • Monitor and maintain standard cost in Oracle

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Financial Management role
  • Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills
  • Good working knowledge of AS400 and Oracle accounting software
 
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Automotive background in a lean manufacturing environment is desired
  • Tier 1, JIT Automotive background
 
Education/Training/Certifications Required
  • Completion of Masters in Accounting or University Degree plus a professional designation (CA, CPA)
