Latham Pool Products has an opening for a Quality Technician at our Brantford, Ontario manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for maintaining good working knowledge of all steel, component, coping and step operations from order placement to shipment of product. Test, inspect and audit in process, finished and stored products as well as incoming material for conformance to all specifications.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain all instructions, records, equipment and samples pertaining to inspection, test and audit procedures, techniques, etc.
• Provide above information and materials to guide supervisors in assuring operators are producing quality products.
• Work with supervisors to ensure operators are using correct production methods and equipment is operating properly.
• Communicate with supervisor in regard to questionable activity, and document for recall as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor in regard to out of spec or defective product, and document for recall as needed. 
• Perform and report inspections on incoming materials.
• Inspect and report findings of all returned goods.
• Maintain records of return goods and disposition.   Maintain inventory of product denied for credit for 30 days after inspection.
• Assist in determination and upgrading acceptable specs and features to be inspected.
• Maintain working relationship with all supervisors, customer service and production employees as a team player.
• Must be able to work all shifts and overtime as required.
• Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance as is required by a position of this significance.

 
Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED; 2 year technical degree preferred.
• Must know how to use various measuring instruments. (The ability to use rulers/tape measures)
• Excellent math skills.
• Computer and keyboarding skills. (Spreadsheets, Database and Word Processing.)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing or equivalent
• Ability to read blue prints
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must have interpersonal skills
• Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting, pushing and pulling. ( approx.30 plus pounds)

 
Salary Rate: $16-$18/hr
