Job Description
Purpose of Position
This position is for an experienced electrical technologist to design control/power panels in support of customer Municipal Water and Waste Water UV Projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create electrical panel schematics, cabling and networking drawings, and P&ID drawings in AutoCAD or equal software tools
- Develop and implement innovative, cost effective design solutions for water treatment systems
- Candidate will be involved in all stages of Municipal Customer Projects – inception, requirements, design, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, improvement and support.
- Act as a technical resource to sales, project teams, production, and service departments
- Contribute to continuous improvement
- Occasional international travel for site commissioning will be required
Background and Skill
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology
- Industrial electrical panel design experience– prefer minimum 3-5 years
- Proficient in using AutoCAD 2011 or higher software and strong computer skills
- Working knowledge of UL, CE, and IEC standards with respect to industrial electrical panels
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Creativity, problem solving and attention to detail
- Experience with industrial network protocols an asset
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety and good safety record required
- Able to manage timelines for multiple projects and assigned tasks
- Team player able to work with a global team
