Our client in the K-W area is looking for a Technical Writer for a three month contract to join their growing team! Do you have a custom automation background? If so, this role is for you!
As a Technical Writer of custom automation, you will be responsible for:
• Create new technical documents based on the specifications from clients.
• Provide administrative, clerical and technical support for technical publications for automation products.
• Using graphic design and photography to create images to support written material.
• Edit existing documentation to incorporate product updates and product enhancements.
• Take complex technical information and translate to a non-technical language for end-users.
As a qualified Technical Writer, you meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Technical Writing Certificate or equivalent
Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer.
• Knowledge of technical communication techniques and standards
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, or equivalent graphic design software
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and the ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings is preferred
