Job Description
Our facility located in Embro, ON is searching for a motivated individual to fill the full-time, permanent role of Plant Manager to take on the responsibility of overseeing plant activities to meet production objectives and drive continuous improvement for optimization of all processes. The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with quality requirements, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. He or she will also delegate authority to key supervisors in production, manage all functions involved and direct and coordinate operations for the processing plant.
Plant Manager Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of plant facility, and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, metrics and performance targets
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
Prepare, analyze and issue production and performance reports
Control costs to achieve company budget goals
Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
Commit to plant safety procedures
Remain in compliance with Federal and Ministry standard and guidelines
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
Plant Manager skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or proven relevant experience preferred
5+ years’ experience managing teams in a Cement manufacturing environment
Ability to concisely communicate objectives and results to reach targeted goals, including influence across functional lines and levels using a hands-on approach.
Expertise in Thyssenkrupp Industrial – Polysius - specifically DOPOL equipment, both operational and troubleshooting
Able to lead root cause analysis investigations
Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, and stewardship processes
Advanced computer literacy
Excellent communication skills, fluency in both written and spoken English, and special consideration will be given to someone also fluent in German (Thyssenkrupp Industrial is a German Firm)
Compensation and Benefits
Federal White Cement Ltd. offers a comprehensive health and dental benefit plan as well as an excellent defined contribution pension package. Potential housing allowance if not currently living in the province of Ontario, disbursement of some travel expenses. Salary range based on experience $200K - $225K annually.
