1.0 FTE Temporary Computer Technician-School Technician
Brantford School Support Centre (Brantford, ON)

Required Abilities and Qualifications
  • University degree in Computer science or a Community College diploma with a focus on software support (ie Computer Systems Technician–Software Support or Information Technology Support Services) is required.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or A+ certification required
  • A minimum of three years’ previous experience in a similar role is required
  • Experience with Microsoft O365, Outlook, Windows 10/11, Active Directory Account Management is required
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops and iPads
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on quality customer service
  • Strong customer service skills and organizational skills are essential, including the ability to deal with multiple activities.
  • Experience in trouble-shooting technical issues using sound methodology and processes
  • Experience working with call ticketing software (Topdesk) and asset management system an asset
  • Experience with SCCM, Airwatch / WorkspaceOne, Azure and Intune an asset

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide telephone, email, on site and/or remote desktop technical support
  • Provide support for desktop PC’s, laptops, printers, iPads and smart phones
  • Deliver and deploy new devices to schools and offices at Grand Erie
  • Install, prepare, image, support and process warrantee claims for endpoint devices
  • Provide support for Microsoft M365 environments
  • Maintain school-based technology as required
  • Utilize call ticketing software (TOPdesk)
  • Maintain asset management system
  • May be required to be available for a call-back outside of regular working hours for emergency situations.
  • Work with third party support as required
  • Other duties as required
     
Job Specifications
Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, 12 months per year
Rate of Pay $38.45/hr
