We are currently recruitng a Financial Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity with a Financial Services firm in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
The primary focus of the role is to support the year-end audited financial statement production cycle for a number of investment funds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and analyze annual and interim financial statements for investment funds which include statement of investments, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and statement of changes in net assets
• Prepare working papers tailored to each investment fund and clearly articulate variances and unexpected results
• Co-ordinate and participate in tasks related to the annual audit for investment funds
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to senior management, regulators, and third parties
• Regularly review and update existing documentation to capture new processes and policies
• Provide recommendations on efficiencies, standards and improvements related to financial processes and/or systems
• Communicate objectively, without error and in a professional manner with auditors and regulators
• Represent the team on multi-functionary projects dealing with a variety of regulatory, product and process initiatives
Qualifications:
• CMA or CGA designation
• Advanced Microsoft Office Excel
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Audit and accounting experience in IFRS and CGAAP
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (index, sumif, pivot, lookups, conditional formats, linking)
