Job Description

Reporting directly to the President, the Manager of the President’s Office is a member of the President’s strategic team and serves as Secretary to the Board. The Manager assists the President in planning and executing a wide range of complex and sensitive administrative, operational and strategic responsibilities related to policy development, academic, fiscal, and administrative programs.

The Manager of the President’s Office will:
  • Provide administrative support to all activities of the Board of Directors and its subcommittees by; providing proper notice of meetings, developing and distributing agendas, minutes and materials in consultation with the Chairs, Senior Leadership and President.
  • Develop and oversee the Board orientations and professional development in consultation with the Board Chair.
  • Provide advice and resources to the Board on relevant topics being addressed at meetings, such as governance; overseeing the approval of accurate minutes, ensuring quorum is present at meetings, being aware and sensitive to any special or confidential information discussed at meetings; and ensuring that King’s activities are in line with its objectives.
  • Provide support to College Council for compliance with College Council’s constitution and governance policies.
  • Ensure that the President receives complete briefings in advance of meetings to ensure that he is prepared with all relevant and accurate information required to perform their role. 
  • Function as a knowledgeable resource for interpretation of policy, procedure and protocol across King’s. 
  • Manage the operational aspects of the Office of the President (budgets, reporting requirements), including monitoring the work of the President’s Executive Assistant.
  • Supports the President in the achievement of annual and Strategic Plan priorities including monitoring, tracking and reporting on progress.
  • Interact with Senior Administrators to facilitate a seamless flow of information in order to ensure strong communication between and amongst King’s management group and governance bodies.
  • In collaboration with other departments, plan, coordinate and host activities and events for the Office of the President and related offices including King’s convocation, receptions, events.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must:
  • Have a minimum of a Masters degree, preferably in Administration or related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in progressively more responsible appointments
  • Be knowledgeable of academic and administrative programs and organizational structures.
  • Have superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate open discussions, collaborate with and respond to multiple constituencies, and write clear and concise reports.
  • Demonstrate experience in project management, communications, planning and presentations.
  • Have general knowledge of regulations and by-laws governing academic institutions, as well as best practices and challenges facing postsecondary education.
  • Have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and evidence of excellent multitasking ability and organization.
  • Be able to interact effectively and work collegially and respectful with diverse faculty, employees, student body, alumni, board and community.
  • Posses a strict commitment to confidentiality.
  • Have exceptional administrative and executive skills.
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills within a range of computer systems and software’s.
  • Have experience working with extensive detail, within prescribed policy or protocol.
  • Have an understanding of a collegial environment in an institution of higher learning and experience supporting senior academic and executive leaders.

TYPE OF JOB:

Regular Full Time, 35 hours per week

EFFECTIVE DATE:

As soon as possible.

SALARY RANGE:

PSG 16 - $88,660 – $111,014, per annum
