We are actively recruiting for a candidate who can hit the ground running as the new Environmental H&S Specialist. 80% Health and Safety with a 20% environmental component.
Our client, one of the leading automotive Tier 1 suppliers in the Southwestern Ontario area, is looking for someone with spark, initiative and perseverance. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance and implementation of the Health and Safety programs while continuing to stay current with regulatory developments, as well as monitoring industry and corporate standards. As the successful candidate you will pride yourself in ensuring that the health and safety management system meets current and changing corporate, regulatory requirements. Furthermore, you will be regularly liaising with the Federal Government to ensure compliance with plant emission regulations as well as any other federal regulations required for our client's organization.
If you want to join this team and put your mark on a company that will help you to accelerate your career, you should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupation Health & Safety or Environmental Science along with a minimum of 4 - 7 years in a Health and Safety role. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Ontario Health & Safety regulations, MOE and a proven track record with safety and health compliance, injury prevention, and incident reduction. A knack for developing/implementing sound policies and procedures and a proven track record of applying adult learning principles to training programs is a requirement for this role. Excellent communication skills are an absolute must, along with strong team leadership skills and an ability to multi-task.
Salary: $60K-$70K/year depending on experience.
