Job Title:            Vice President of Finance, CPA
Location:            London
Reporting to:       President
Education:         University degree, CPA accounting/finance diploma mandatory  
Experience:       Minimum of 5-years in senior management role with both, external and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization 
 
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Vice President of Finance include but are not limited to the following:
 
Strategy, Vision and Leadership
  • Advise the president and other key members of the senior management team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities and policy matters.
  • Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee, effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the president informed of all critical issues.
  • Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking negotiations.
Team Development and Leadership
  • Oversee, directly and organize the finance and accounting teams.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals and administer salary adjustments.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, monitor and evaluate results.       
Operations
  • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate execute the annual budget process with the control of a weekly self-monitoring tool.  
  • Organize and manage of operations of accounting departments including consolidations, if applicable.
  • Supervise accounting coordinators and controllers.  
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Manage annual audits, tax returns and government filings.
  • Maintain in each and every entity proper accounting systems.
 
Required abilities
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong monitoring, coaching experience for teams with diverse levels of expertise.
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask is self-reliant, a good problem solver and results oriented.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, proactive, a team leader who can positively impact, strategic, tactical finance and administration initiatives; well organized and efficient; motivated, goal oriented and can easily adapt to changes.
  • Flexible regarding working longer hours, meeting tight deadlines and work with little supervision independently as well as with others on a team.

  • Some travel may be occasionally required
