Pursuit Health Management is a dynamic rehabilitation firm located in London, Ontario. We specialize in assisting individuals with their recovery following accidents, illness or injuries. We have a multi-disciplinary clinic in London, offering physiotherapy, massage therapy and a variety of specialized assessments. Our community team, comprised of occupational therapists, nurse case managers, social workers, kinesiologists and vocational rehabilitation consultants work with clients in their home, school or place of employment, throughout Southwestern Ontario. We’re a team focused on function by meeting the client’s physical, cognitive, psycho-social needs in a timely and professional manner.
Due to continued growth we are seeking part-time Occupational Therapists in London, Sarnia and Kitchener.
Occupational therapists develop, implement and coordinate occupational therapy assessment and treatment programs. Screening, evaluation, transition planning, therapeutic intervention, and outcome management planning is provided to clients having sustained impairments that interfere with their ability to perform activities of daily living, personal care or participate in necessary or desired occupations.

Screening, evaluation, transition planning, therapeutic intervention, and outcome management planning is provided to clients having sustained impairments that interfere with their ability to perform activities of daily living, personal care or participate in necessary or desired occupations.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates the client’s ability and formulates their occupational profile through a variety of functional, behavioural, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, medical file reviews, and interviews.
- Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to participation in personal care, ADL’s, return to work, leisure or educational pursuits; directs program delivery; and guides evidence-based intervention.
- Develops occupationally based intervention treatment plans based on needs and evaluation results.
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develops plans and to achieve treatment goals.
- Provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate client participation and occupational performance.
- Consults with the medical/rehabilitation team to achieve outcomes.
- Adapts and modifies the home, school or work environment to meet individual needs and to help clients function as independently as possible.
- Educates clients, support personnel, and family to facilitate skills in areas of occupation as well as health maintenance and safety.
- Monitors and reassesses the effects of occupational therapy intervention and the need to continue, modify, or discontinue intervention.
- Documents occupational therapy services to ensure accountability of service provision and to meet standards for reimbursement of services as appropriate.
- Maintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, and company guidelines.
- Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy professional program and have completed all fieldwork requirements.
- Two years of experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in the private sector.
- Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Knowledge and appreciation of the influence of disabilities, socio-cultural and socioeconomic factors on client’s ability to participate in occupations. Knowledge and use of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, principles, and evidence based practice to guide assessment and treatment decisions. Knowledge of the SABS legislation, WSIB regulations, policies and procedures that guide occupational therapy in private practice.
- Ability to maintain current reporting, documentation, scheduling, and billing in accordance with professional standards, organizational guidelines, and reimbursement requirements.
- Ability to select and administer appropriate assessment tools to evaluate the client. Ability to interpret the assessment data and write a comprehensive report that reflects strengths and barriers to client’s participation and occupational performance. Ability to participate collaboratively with multi-disciplinary educational teams to develop treatment programs to meet client needs.
- Ability to provide evidence based occupational therapy intervention to improve client’s performance skills and participation.
- Ability to adapt and modify environments, equipment, and materials including assistive technology.
- Skills in effective oral and written communication.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to meet clients in their homes, school settings or worksites.
